Win a Pao Papoose (really fab baby carrier)

Win a Pao Papoose (really fab baby carrier)

Pops and I love to “sling it”. There’s nothing better than going on a long family walk with her facing outwards and kicking her little legs in excitement as she takes everything in (although I usually get Mr UFM to do the carrying on long walks as I’m incredibly clumsy). It also saves the hassle of bringing the buggy along. I totally relied on our  NCT Caboo sling during the newborn days when she would sleep nuzzled up to me while I got on with jobs around the house.

My two all time favourite slings are the aforementioned NCT Caboo which was my best friend in the early days and the Ergobaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier. Both of these carriers hold your baby in the perfect position to protect their hips and The Ergobaby is great if your little one is heavy as it distributes the weight really well.

My beloved NCT Caboo – total lifesaver in the early days

Anyway, I was recently introduced to a new baby carrier called the Pao Papoose. Their PR company very kindly offered to send me one to try and although I bloody love my Ergobaby and was sure that nothing could come close, I of course agreed and I’m really impressed. (I must stress that I’m not being paid to say this and would NEVER recommend anything that I didn’t like).  The carrier is really very good. It’s soft in structure so is nice and comfy and enables you to carry your little one in three different positions: forward-facing, parent-facing, and on your back. Most importantly, the forward facing position is ergonomically correct (they’ve put a lot of research into this) which means that your baby’s hips are kept in a healthy position. It can be used from 4-36 months.

Anyway, I was so impressed that I asked if I could have another one to give away and they very kindly agreed. Yay! If you fancy getting your hands on a Pao Papoose (worth £89.99) just leave your name and a comment in the box at the bottom of this post and I’ll pick a winner at random next Wednesday. You can read all the blurb about the Papoose at wemademe.com.

Have a fantastic Friday/weekend. Today is meant to be the happiest day of the year – let’s hope the babies have got wind of this and spend the day smiling, sleeping when they’re meant to and not licking shoes.

Upfront Mama xx

I just love your blog. Down to earth, funny and honest (plus it makes me feel less neurotic … Ok, maybe not less, but definitely like I’m not the only first time mum who thinks like this too!) xx

like you my NCT caboo was a lifesaver when my daughter was newborn especially with y 3 year old son around. This carrier looks lovely and forward facing would be good as Alice’s favourite pastime is watching her big brother!

My Caboo was a life saver with my eldest, I loved it and now with twins I’m missing the ease of slings. You can’t get far with a double buggy! We’d love this so we can take both twins out for walks!

This sling looks lovely, I was pondering about getting a Baby Bjorn, although after reading comments on here about it, maybe not, I actually found out I was pregnant after trying for two years on the most miserable day of the year (so missed out on that) and 3 months today is my due date so would live to win this.

Would really love to win this. It would mean we could be a lot more adventurous when going out. Public transport can be a nightmare with a pram. If there are already prams on a bus you have to wait a while for the next one. As for getting trains it is not possible for me to get my pram off and on the train on my own. This would give us the freedom to use the trains for days out and not have to worry about what bus we can and can’t get. 🙂

Hello Upfront Mama! Love the blog!
I would love to take my 4mo for a walk in a sling after my toddler is in bed (if my oh is home with her of course!) and this sling would make a great change from the pram and give him the excitement of looking around. I can even hold his hands and sing in his ear while we walk! Will keep his little fingers crossed! (obvs not literally, if social services ask…) Thanks! Oh and I would love cheering up because my oh has been on a work trip for a week and I’m knackered!

As a sling virgin this sounds like it might just save my life – and back! Due to my little one turning into a lump- I have had to start sleeping sat upright. This may just be a saving grace!

On a separate note thanks so much for a superb blog- I started on my baby journey with you from January when I gave birth and have followed during the nightly feed ever since. You are almost as important as the baby bag and nappies!xxx
