Pops and I love to “sling it”. There’s nothing better than going on a long family walk with her facing outwards and kicking her little legs in excitement as she takes everything in (although I usually get Mr UFM to do the carrying on long walks as I’m incredibly clumsy). It also saves the hassle of bringing the buggy along. I totally relied on our NCT Caboo sling during the newborn days when she would sleep nuzzled up to me while I got on with jobs around the house.
My two all time favourite slings are the aforementioned NCT Caboo which was my best friend in the early days and the Ergobaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier. Both of these carriers hold your baby in the perfect position to protect their hips and The Ergobaby is great if your little one is heavy as it distributes the weight really well.
My beloved NCT Caboo – total lifesaver in the early days
Anyway, I was recently introduced to a new baby carrier called the Pao Papoose. Their PR company very kindly offered to send me one to try and although I bloody love my Ergobaby and was sure that nothing could come close, I of course agreed and I’m really impressed. (I must stress that I’m not being paid to say this and would NEVER recommend anything that I didn’t like). The carrier is really very good. It’s soft in structure so is nice and comfy and enables you to carry your little one in three different positions: forward-facing, parent-facing, and on your back. Most importantly, the forward facing position is ergonomically correct (they’ve put a lot of research into this) which means that your baby’s hips are kept in a healthy position. It can be used from 4-36 months.
Anyway, I was so impressed that I asked if I could have another one to give away and they very kindly agreed. Yay! If you fancy getting your hands on a Pao Papoose (worth £89.99) just leave your name and a comment in the box at the bottom of this post and I’ll pick a winner at random next Wednesday. You can read all the blurb about the Papoose at wemademe.com.
Have a fantastic Friday/weekend. Today is meant to be the happiest day of the year – let’s hope the babies have got wind of this and spend the day smiling, sleeping when they’re meant to and not licking shoes.
