Firstly I want to thank you for providing me with such a warm and cosy place to grow. I’ve had so much fun in here swimming around although I must admit it’s feeling a bit too cosy now and I’m feeling a tiny bit squashed so if it’s OK I might head out soonish.
I’ve really enjoyed listening to your heartbeat over the past nine months and have also loved hearing your voice. I’ve enjoyed hearing daddy talk to me as well. He sounds very nice and quite funny. I’m so excited that I’ll soon be meeting you both properly. I can’t wait to snuggle onto your chests and really get to know you.
Mummy don’t be scared about the birth. It’s going to be challenging for both of us but we’ll get there together. I’m much tougher than you think I am so don’t worry about me and when it comes to the big day we’ll both know what to do. Other Mummies have been doing it since before we can both imagine and it will be all worth it when we can finally cuddle each other.
During the birth remember to be as relaxed as possible as that will help me to come out and if you need pain relief please have it Mummy. I will be fine and I honestly don’t mind. Really I want you to enjoy the experience as much as possible as it is going to be one of the most exciting days of both of our lives.
When I arrive I’m probably going to be quite tired and hungry. I don’t know how to talk yet so I will cry a lot but it’s only my way of letting you know that I’m here and that I need something. I’m also really sorry if I keep you awake lots but I don’t really know the difference between night and day yet and I’m also going to be hungry quite often at the beginning.
The thing I’ll need more than anything when I arrive is to get to know you and you me. On those nights when I can’t sleep I’d love it if you’d hold me in your arms and tell me all about yourself and Daddy. In fact, if you could hold me quite a lot at the beginning that would be really nice as I’m not used to being in the big wide world and it will make me feel happy and safe.
I’m so excited that I’ll be meeting you soon. I have a feeling that we’re going to get on really well.
See you soon…I love you already
