Shopping is not what it once was.
Whenever I get a chance to actually head out to real life shops (rather than getting lost in the world of online), I end up shunning Whistles, Reiss and Space NK (my old favourite haunts) for Mothercare, John Lewis kids department and JoJo Maman Bebe. I am officially obsessed with buying stuff for Poppy.
Now that it’s getting colder, I’ve been stocking up on warm (and very cute) winter outfits, a new and rather exciting gro-bag (or two) and have also bought a few fun toys that are cheap but that Pops absolutely LOVES.
Here are a few of my recent purchases:
A sweet little cardigan to combat the Autumn chill – £16 Here
A very thick and super snuggly cardi- £22 here
Merino Kids Go Go baby Sleep Bag – £70 here
Now bear with me on this one. I get that £70 is a pretty crazy amount of money to spend on a Gro Bag. BUT this one is truly amazing. Recommended to me by my best friend P, Merino wool is really special because it helps regulate body temperature. In other words, this gem of a product will keep your little one cool when it’s warm and snug when it’s colder. You can actually use it for an incredibly wide range of temperatures from 17-27 degrees C. You just layer up underneath as you usually would with a gro-bag. So in very hot temps just a nappy and when it’s colder a sleep suit etc. I love this product!
I-Angel Baby Carrier – £89.95 here
My friend Ali is actually one of the women behind I-Angel and gifted me one of these but I made it very clear that I only mention things here that I really believe in. I would NEVER recommend something to you that I didn’t like just because a friend or PR company gave it to me.
Anyway, the I-Angel has indeed made it onto Upfrontmama.com because it’s an excellent product. The hip seat is perfect for carrying toddlers, I love the fact that I can detach it and just sit Pops on my hip when i’m cooking etc and when out and about, Poppy seems to find this very comfy. It offers great support for both of us and positions her legs correctly for hip health, All in all, a great product and almost up there with my beloved Ergobaby 360 which for me is the best baby carrier out there.
Hmmmm what else? Oh yes…if you’re bored of your nappy bag (or just can’t believe how old and gross it looks already) then what do you think of this?
At first glance it looks like any old silver bag (a pretty nice one at that) but open it up and it’s brimming with handy little compartments, a clip for your keys, insulated bottle holders, a mini handbag and clear zip up wallets for putting your bits and bobs in and you can buy a nappy changing insert too. You will never lose anything again. You will be the Queen of Organised and will feel pretty damn fab.Check out MiaTui bags here. This one costs £59.99 and would make a great gift for a Mama to be.
Toy wise I can’t find a suitable image of it, but Poppy’s nanny bought her a hand held disco ball. You can get them from one pound shops and I also bought Pops a Frozen themed one from Tesco. They are so cheap but provide hours of entertainment. Pops is mesmerised by the flashing lights and we often turn the lights off, turn the balls on and have a disco in the lounge.
Happy shopping fellow Mamas xx
